Motorcycle Safety Awareness Week last week

Last week along the freeway, the overhead signs were turned on, saying last week was Motorcycle Safety Awareness Week.

I have a tip for all motorcyclists out there:

Maybe you won't die so often if you didn't try and weave in and out of moving/stationary traffic.

KFC quote

I frequent OzBargain and sometimes, KFC deals are posted. I like this quote, it's so true...

As i get older it seems to be disagreeing more and more with the lower part of my digestive system. But its still agreeing with my mouth so I'm still willing to make a compromise.

Two years into ownership

Another year owning my car (see one year ownership here). With a bit more fruit (fun parts) installed, still enjoying the car.

My one gripe with the car, it's not menacing enough. With the badges removed, the car looks like a garden variety Focus (there are differences, but only Focus owners would probably pick it), and so everybody thinks they can cut in front of me cos I'm a slow hatchback... *buzzer* wrong answer. The car has a power/weight ratio that enables it to make V8s worry. Standing start acceleration isn't very strong (stupid front-wheel-drive), but rolling acceleration is brilliant. And the noise! Mmmm.. 5 pots do sound good on full song.

Storm

James Hardie and fencing contractors/installers must be loving this weather .. another 17 fence sheets bite the dust ....

Wannabe Hero

CB and I were walking to the shops this morning when a wannabe hero in a blue Commodore V8 ute decided to do a burnout whilst turning out of a street. He failed on a couple of counts:

1) His ute was that shitty that his LSD was stuffed and only did a burnout with one wheel. Single pegger burnouts = no respect.
2) He lost control and hit something. By then he had disappeared around the corner so couldn't see if he actually hit something or he mounted the curb and it was his car that made the crunch noise. I hope he's smashed a sideskirt, buckled a wheel and bent some suspension.

Too bad we weren't closer at the time cos I would've taken his rego and reported him. I am all for performance and modified cars but dicks like these tarnish the reputation of the majority who behave themselves.

Wrong turns

Why is it that drivers these days on Perth roads think it's OK to hold up lanes of traffic because they've made a wrong turn/maneouvre?

I see it quite regularly these days, people do not get it into their heads that they can't continue and turn back around, they HAVE to try and barge their way into an existing queue, thus holding up other traffic in the queue and people who want to go straight.

Skyrim finished....

So after 115 hours, I finally finished the main quest of Skyrim. I must admit, I didn't complete two of the last side missions that I received as I just wanted to finish the story to play another game. I found the ending to be a little anti-climactic after all the awesomeness travelling around Skyrim and dominating the Thieves Guild, College of Winterhold, Companions and Dark Brotherhood. By the time I got to the ending, I was too powerful and Alduin lasted mere seconds after he landed to attack me.

It was fun while it lasted, although the bug which only affected the PS3 which made the game unplayable was very annoying. It's a good thing Bethesda fixed it otherwise I probably would've put the game away and never finished it.

Bidets are weird

So I'm currently on tour in Taiwan and the tour includes stays in 5 star hotels. The first night, we're in the Sun Moon Lake area in Fleur de Chine Hotel. The rooms are swank as and the toilet has a bidet.

So I try it out it's weird. Direct jets of water on your bunghole is just weird. But the engineer in me decided it was time to test this thing out, so I then proceeded to sit in a different position on the toilet seat and start it up again. Sure enough, it fired directly where it needed to.

So, engineers have developed a way to accurately find your bunghole whichever way you're sitting on the can. Wonder how they describe their jobs to strangers hahahaha.

Pigeon Nest

A pair of pigeons have nested in one of my hedges (started near Australia Day). This is a picture of their babies from 2 days ago. I've left some second hand seed out for the parents, and it looks like they prefer eating it off the ground as opposed to a dish.

The two babies are now beginning to get some pep in them. They will puff up acting big and strong like their parents did when I got too close. They are nearly too big for the nest. This morning, the mother (or father) was sitting off to the side of them as they no longer fit underneath. Won't be too long before they fledge I think...

Thanks ALP

Thanks ALP for the carbon tax, the flood levy and now the 30% extra I will have to pay for health insurance.

Think you will get my vote in the next federal election? In the spirit of my last post, I will spell it out clearly: NO.

I can only hope you get ousted before you decided to further take from middle income earners where you should be targeting large multi-nationals who are posting millions/billions of dollars profit. That would be the sensible thing to do would it not?

No means no, anything else means yes

To our "esteemed" politicians,

Here are words of advice. Any answer other than no, means yes.
